Accommodation

NMMU offers residence accommodation to 3 700 students on its Port Elizabeth and George campuses, and provides access for a further 3 500 students in accredited off-campus accommodation.

Please note the following 2017 information:

• Residences for first-year students opens on 20 January 2017 at both George and in Port Elizabeth
• Residences for first-year international students opens from 15 January 2017
• First-year students do not share accommodation with senior students
• Senior students who are writing their 2016 examinations in January, can return to residence two days before their examination. They must bring proof of their examination timetable.
• Senior students who are writing re-examinations in January should similarly provide proof of the date of their re-write
• Residences for senior students opens on 5 February, the day before lectures begin for 2017
• Students who applied for residences at NMMU will receive notification of the outcome via text message
• Students can apply for accredited off-campus accommodation via an online application form if they are senior students. First-time applicants should contact the off-campus housing office on 041 5042921.
